Re-Presenting Truth and Love

S&H582:28 CHILDREN. The spiritual thoughts and representatives of Life, Truth, and Love.

Let's repronounce the word "represent" and instead re present the new old idea. This identity that knows no birth or death. That is who you are. It ties in with last week about individualizing spiritual power. If you are re-presenting yourself then you are witnessing or displaying again something that has always been...your health, intelligence, power, beauty, employment, success, etc.

What is the central point of our religion?...Not to be confused with the Doctrine of Christian Science in S&H 304:9-14 (This is the doctrine of Christian Science: that divine Love cannot be deprived of its manifestation, or object; that joy cannot be turned into sorrow, for sorrow is not the master of joy; that good can never produce evil; that matter can never produce mind nor life result in death.) That's the Doctrine but what is the Central Point: Look in S&H 454:29-31 "The superiority of spiritual power over sensuous is the central point of Christian Science."

When you re-present your true identity (Truth: trusting, trustful, trustworthy, trusted and Love: loving, lovable, lovely, loved) to the world you are being born again. How do we attend such a birth? Read below:

S&H463:6 To attend properly the birth of the new child, or divine idea, you should so detach mortal thought from its material conceptions, that the birth will be natural and safe. Though gathering new energy, this idea cannot injure its useful surroundings in the travail of spiritual birth. A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive. The new idea, conceived and born of Truth and Love, is clad in white garments. Its beginning will be meek, its growth sturdy, and its maturity undecaying. When this new birth takes place, the Christian Science infant is born of the Spirit, born of God, and can cause the mother no more suffering. By this we know that Truth is here and has fulfilled its perfect work.

In yesterdays lecture by Mark Swinney, (which was terrific-you should have been there) he made the point that we must look for the opportunities to love more. He told of the story of Mrs. Eddy shopping for some chairs for the church with one of her students. The salesman that was helping them had a patch over one eye and was having difficulty. Mrs. Eddy was not paying attention to the chairs. When they left her student asked which chairs they should buy for the church and she replied, in essence, "How can I be concerned about chairs when that men is suffering." When the student returned the next day the salesman wanted to know who that woman was. He was healed right after she left!

He brought out the importance of not giving power to matter to hurt, help or define who you are. Try making the same statement Jesus made to Pilate whenever you are confronted with a problem:

John 19:10,11 (to:) 10 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above:
